DEAR CILLA IVE JUST READ YOUR MESSAGE AND IM STILL CRYING, I TOO HAD TO HAVE MY DOG PUT DOWN AFTER 17 WONDERFUL YEARS TOGETHER. I GOT HIM FROM A DOGS HOME (MORE LIKE HE PICKED ME) AND WE HAD THE BEST 17 YEARS TOGETHER, AND THE HARDEST THING I EVER HAD TO DO WAS THE DAY I TOOK HIM TO THE VET. THAT WAS 3 YEARS AGO NOW AND MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU.I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I HOPE JOHN IS GETTING BETTER MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU BOTH PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

Hi Cilla I guess you are feeling quite lost at the moment without Tiny around, but remember she is at peace now - her time had come as it does to all. I hope you manage to have a couple of days rest before John comes back and that he is feeling a little better so is in a better mood. Now just be you, and rest that knee. Love Liz

Cilla, am sending you lots of positive thoughts to help you get through this week ahead, so sorry to hear all this, it's certainly going to be a tough one for you, shall be thinking of you, take good care there.

Hi Cilla Wish I was down the road so I could come and give you a bit of support but you know we will all be thinking of you and as everyone has said you have done all in your power to help Tiny and you have given her a lovely life since she came to you. It will be hard for you at the vets - I have had to have several cats and my dog put to sleep and it is the hardest thing - but you know Tiny cannot manage anymore and she will be at peace. I hope John's hospital visit goes without too much hassle, make sure the nurses tie him to the bed!!! Sorry your knee is still not painfree but with all you have to cope with I bet you have not been resting it as much as you should have. Take it easy for those couple of days you have to yourself, and hope the visit on Friday goes off without incident. 'They' say things come in threes so by next week at this time, you will have got them all over with, and hopefully John will be a bit more comfortable and therefore easier to be with, your knee will have healed a little more and you will be on the up again. Hello Cilla, It is going to be so hard for you this week, please take care of yourself, and remember there are lots of us here for you, day and night if you need to chat....the good side (if there is one) is you will have a couple of days to grieve and some time to yourself.....I hope John will feel better also, and when he comes home can support and understand how you are feeling......lots of hugs more hugs.....Lilly

Aw Cilla I also feel for you - I like others have already mentioned, will never forget the look on my dogs face when I took him to be put down - he was 16 . At least you gave her a loving home and spoilt her rotten - what more could a pet want? Good luck to John also - this visit should be a doddle! Thinking of you Debby

I realy feel for you Cilla. I will never forget the day my cat had to go to the vets for the last time. They are part of the family aren't they. At least you know that you gave her a lovely life and home for the last 7 years of her life. With regard to John - I should think the hospital will take extra care of him this time. They certainly won't want the same thing to happen again. Chrissie x

Cilla, that is so much to bear on your shoulders. Could the vet not come to your home? That made it much easier for us when he came to put one of our cats to sleep a few years ago. You've given your doggy a secure and loving home for the past 7 years, and she knows she is very much loved. Good luck, and with hubby too. And your knee. Loads of hugs are sent to you from the other side of the world! x

Thank you everyone I have got her (Tiny) tucked up in my bed at the moment with our other rather large dog on the end of the bed watching over her. I forgot that on Friday I have to go back to the specialist for a check up for my knee which is still very sore. I really needed all you hugs. Love Cilla xxx
