Hi Everyone, I'm back ! No groaning xx As some of you know went over to Killarney, Ireland. What a fabulous place. We toured the Ring of Kerry and also the Dingle. I've never seen such great scenery. I thought the Brecons are beautiful, but Kerry was stunning! Every time you turned a corner there was another magnificent view-- mountains and lakes everywhere. We even thought they'd put the flags out for us as everywhere was a green/gold or red flag -- soon found out it was All Ireland football match today between Kerry and Tyrone -- like a Cup Final here. Anyway, enough of me prattling on. Just to let you all know I really enjoyed myself and plan to go back ( well the women were stunning too!) and there was no feeling of guilt. Mum got a poem and a memento at a place called Ladies View overlooking a view of lakes. xx ps... whats happened to the Board? print size I mean..

Hi again. Sounds a nice place. Never been to Ireland but have got family there who don't speak to each other, so I may go one day and shock them. (If I knew their names and other little details) The boards - Anyone's guess

Mandy, You were all so right. Ann, I'd recommend to anyone it was great . Daniel, Cheers - go if you can, but they're so laid back it probably wouldn't shock them! But you got to have a flat cap! Bev, Weather was good, sunny except Weds when it was the odd shower--- it was cold that night so we lit the peat fire!! We must have been only ones hoping it would turn cold so we could light the fire!! It was glowing and we were melting lol No coats all week so shows how mild it was and the sunsets!! great.

Mike Glad you had a good holiday. Went to Kerry and Dingle for the second time earlier this year. Love the place. Did the boat trip out to the Great Blasket Island which is well worth a visit. Ireland is one of my fav. holiday places. Lyndax

Sue, I can honestly say its a beautiful place. Even not counting the scenery the people were so friendly, I've heard others say that but its true. Even when we arrived at the cottage - there was home made bread and an apple pie and they'd even bought milk!! One thing they weren't impressed with though was our dancing!..... went the pub Thurs night as it was a music night so we thought great sit and listen! My foot --- or should I say 2 left ones lol -- they tried to teach us Irish dancing and a jig type thing! I didn't disgrace myself ---- I did a 'waltz' xx

Lynda, I wanted to go to Blasket but we did the trip in Dingle to see the dolphin so it was too late to go to Blasket. I'm definitely a convert to Ireland holidays -- oooh and we adopted a sheep too lol Also went to place which was a famine cottage and you could see what life was like in those days. Lol - just realised I'm boring everyone to death xxxx

Lynda, When we were doing the Kerry Ring, I don't know where it was, but it was really high and you looked down at the Atlantic... so as you do ... we turned down this track road. At the bottom was a small cove with a beach ---- don't tell anyone -- but we skinny dipped in the Atlantic lol. It was bloomin freezing!! On the way back up this one car road what did we meet 3 cows... I went Mooo ( as you do) it stopped -- walked back and went bellow at the window -- as if to say sod off -- then started to lick the wing mirror spit everywhere! lol I went Shooo it went Moo!! for half an hour! My mate gets out of their car goes -- come along now (or words to that effect) the cow promptly poops/ the wind is blowing/ oops back to Atlantic to wash!

Hi Mike Good to see you back, and glad you had a good time It is a truly beautiful place, one of the few places I would like to move to. The people are so friendly, as you found out for yourself, and the scenery is breath taking Dee xx

Mike- have you ever read 'Twenty years a growing' by Maurice O'sullivan... give it a go - all about the inhabitants of the Blasket Island and also a lot of local history of the Dingle area. We stayed in a B B in Castlegregory and our bedroom (with four poster bed) looked out onto the empty beach and the Atlantic. Lyndax

Lynda, Picked up a few books while there but not that one. Must admit have read a lot on Irish history. A lot of talk going on as apparently they want to rename Dingle (I cant remember what too- a gaelic name) but everyone we spoke to was against it. Maybe Pat or someone who lives over there knows more? Dee, Don't know if I could live in some areas they are so remote? I thought we were bad here but they are way the back of beyond? You would have to go to town to shop once a month?? and God help you if you got home and said forgot the milk!!! 2 hr trip back lol xx Definitely would have to have own cows and sheep etc.
