…… at work. I’ve been a School Administrator for the last 12 years and when I was first diagnosed with ME, we worked out some coping strategies so that I could continue my job (especially with regular school holidays). However, the latest flare-up was a bad one made worse by the pressures of the job and after discussions with my GP etc, I’ve finally had to admit defeat. I feel a failure that I’m now considered ‘unfit for work’ but hopefully I might be able to get something part-time in the future. So now I’m a Lady Who Lunches (because I haven’t had a lunch break at work for the past 5 years lol). I can also continue making my greetings cards, which are selling well, and maybe even do some family history! Mandy :)

Mandy, How can you be a failure concerning an illness over which you have no contol. Don't even joke about that. I think it is incredible that you have been able to work for the last 12 years suffering with such a debilitating illness. Look on the bright side Mandy. You can now do all the things you promised yourself while you were working. Good luck and enjoy. Jean x.

Mandy The definition in my dictionary of a failure is someone is sits on the derryaire immediatlely and says 'woo is me' YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT A FAILURE. Your body is telling you that you have packed more into your life than most and that you now have the opportunity to do the things that you want to do and at your pace. Crikey, being a school administrator for 12 years, you probably did more work than someone who had held a job for over 20 years. You deserve this break. Take care Little
