I seem to remember a couple of others did express an interest Ann - but I think it was on one of the 'missing' threads. Maybe a few more will pop up this evening. Maz. XX |

are they all fiction books Ann? I prefer non-fiction books myself - self help books and that sort of thing. |

I'm interested, I've never read the threads before, although have been aware of them. What is really involved? Suex |

Just checked back to the beginning and there were several people who suggested books and voted but who never ever did a review. i wonder if a month is too short a timescale for some people, maybe we should have two choices, one for a one month review and the other for a two month review, so that in the second and subsequent months for those who want to there would be two to read and review. Does that make sense? Ann Glos |

Sue, The members suggest a book they think would be a good read by a given date, then on a date about a week later they vote on all the suggestions. One or two books that come out top in the vote are the books for that month/two months. a date is given for the review. A separate thread is posted for the review. Post review the idea is that there should be a discussion about the whys and wherefore but, so far that has not really happened. That is a rough idea. i will sort it out more fully and put it on a separate thread when we have a few more people. if we don't have enough people the club dies because not everyone is able to review every month. I am also open to suggestions, don't want this to be autocratic. Ann Glos |

I am interested, but I can't guarantee that I will participate every month - depends how busy life gets. But I do really like reading and could do with something new to get into. I assume you get the books from your library or do you all manage to pick up cheap copies? Always thought it sounded quite fun and interesting. Kaye x |

Kaye, I have managed to get the books from the library, our will pull them in from another one in the county for 70p. I have also bought a copy if I wanted it, like Rebecca, or sometimes youc an get them in Charity shops if they are older books. all welcome, doesn't matter if you can't manage every month. ann Glos |
