Yeh right!! my daughter & her hubby went to London for same sort of thing & were subjected to hours of hard sell. They couldnt even leave the venue as they had locked the doors of the conference room so no one could get out. They remained strong tho as they couldnt afford it & finally left some six hours later having wasted a Sunday afternoon & paid out for train fares and without their free gift for attending!!! Ros Thats what we said .They complained to the Hotel when they got home but were told that the company had left the building so there was nothing they could do about it. All the 'customers ' were escorted from the hotel at the end of the presention so no one could make a complaint I think. They even wouldnt let anyone go to the Loo whilst they were locked in without a memeber of the 'sales!!!!' team going with them. they had made peolple switch off mobiles when they got there, fair enough, but had checked there was no service in the Loos ,but were obviously worried someone could ring out somehow. This was Time Share by the way ,so some time ago Shirley

Bren from Oldham

Bren from Oldham Report 8 Oct 2005 14:33

Years ago when we were in Portugal we were approached by a person who asked if we wanted to go and view a new exclusive apartment complex, no strings attached and after the viewing we would be taken to a 5* hotel for lunch So along we went with another couple when we got there they wouldn't let us look round together we each had our own guide After about a hour the sales pitch started the girl wanted our bank and credit card details She wouldn't believe us that we didn't have a credit card and that we never take our cheque book on holiday with us. In her opinion all English people have credit cards etc. She gave up eventually ,and as the other couple had declined to as well we didn't get our lunch at the 5* hotel and had to make our own way back to where we were staying One year when we were staying on the Costa del Sol a young lass came up to us ,asked me to take a lucky dip and if my ticket was a prizewiiner I could go to a certain hotel to claim it. I won a camera, but when I told her that if it was time share I couldn't afford it because I was on invalidity benefit , the winning ticket was immediately snatched from my hand Bren

I always say my husband is over 65, true and they loose interest immediately. I don't think they could get enough years out of us. Funny thing is we could probably afford a timeshare if we were stupid enough.
