is the 1851 census offline again ?

I've just tried to get in and it takes me to the 1861 census instead ? |

When you get to the 1851 apprently if you look in the address bar at the top you have to change 1861 into 1851 and it gets you there, someone was talking about this on the tips board earlier today, unfortunately I am not subscribed .xxhugxx |

to add to this - you can search the indexes this way, but the actual images won't load. |

Cor it's all right for some. Found my ggrandad's baptism today, after searching for yonks. Found 2 brothers and a sister. Rushed home to see if I could find them on 1851 and the rest is history. |

Hi Paul, If I go into Ancestry UK there is no option for the 1851, but it I go into - www*1851-census*co*uk, it is there. Can you access it through the Ancestry site as a rule? Deb |

Deb, thats how I've been using it, yes, BUT tonight if you put a search in, it takes you to the 1861 and not the 1851. Paul |

Hi All, I've got the 1851 census uk in my favourites & can get to the front page, put in name & up comes results for 1861. Glad I got most of them at the w/end. By the way, after my thread yesterday I didn't tell them, honest. lol Vivienne |

Yes but paul when you find them in work houses you are not meant to add every individual - it might bump yer tree up but hun there not all yours lol xx |
