Joan of Arc(hives) Report 15 Oct 2005 14:37

Well CB I need to lose about a stone ideally, or half a stone, but I am 'within the normal range' according to all the books on the subject, albeit the upper end of normal!!! lol I did try a size 12 skirt in Marks per wotsit range this week & it was too big!!!! They do seem to make stuff bigger though these days, I think !! lol :0) Joan xx

Harry Report 15 Oct 2005 14:55

I am prone to most things, but luckily not this one. I was 13stone two when I joined the army in 1951 and have never altered by more than a pound. To make me even more insufferable , my only bad habit (that I can indulge in) is eating - particularly chocolate. Lucky. lucky, lucky. happy days

I haven't a clue how much I weigh, I just go by how I 'feel'. When jeans or skirts feel slightly tight, I know I need to lose a few pounds! Have been similar size (10-12) for years now, and am now more concerned with keeping toned rather than losing loads.

Snap Harry! I don't put on weight either, despite eating vast amounts of chocolate! The trouble is, it's not so good when you get older. My mum is the same - she is 72 and stick thin - and to be honest, it's not a pretty sight, lol!!! Bev x

Harry, I'm certain you are an absolute dish!!!! I was talking about old, thin ladies (trying to get out of a hole here!!) It's not so bad when they are LITTLE old thin ladies, but my mum is 5'8' - she looks like she'd snap in the middle in a high wind! Bev x

Jane Report 15 Oct 2005 15:19

Hi CB I'm only 9 stone 3. I have just lost 4lbs and would like to loose another 3 or 4 lbs. The really frustrating thing is i'm a size 16 and although i've lost a few pounds my clothes dont feel any different. Good luck Jane

Another 1 1/2 stone would be nice, trying to be realistic. I don't think I'll ever get back to my pre-baby weight. I've cut out all refined sugar and wheat this week (eg biscs, bread and choc) and lost the first half a stone. I need to seriously deal with exercise for the flabby bits though. It's going to be harder to shift the rest.

Annie Report 15 Oct 2005 15:49

id love to loose about 1/2 stone that would make me 9st ....but that still makes me over weight as im only 5-2 clothes are a prob. as some 10s are fine depends were i get them ......and then its 2foot off the legs ann xx

Jan Report 15 Oct 2005 15:50

I must admit I hate being so much overweight, and it's mainly down to lack of exercise. Having had knee problems for most of this year, I've been forced to take it very easy - was hardly able to walk for months, but I'm determined to get back on track and lose some of this before Christmas - just in time to put it all back on again OVER Christmas! Then I'll try losing it again, and put it all back on over Easter, etc. It's not fair! LOL But this thread has proved I'm not alone. CB >|<

About 2 stone I think...

Bec

Bec Report 15 Oct 2005 16:49

Not sure now... Have probably lost about 2 stone now, thought I'd plateaued and even begun putting it back on but one of my girlfriends turned to me last night and told me she thought I'd lost more... Hmm.... love becx

Unknown Report 15 Oct 2005 16:53

That's really annoying, isn't it, Bec? I was really pleased to lose 1.5 st. earlier this year, then because of the knee, most of that's gone back on again. To think, I used to be able to eat anything and not put on weight when I was young, and now I just look at a cake and I've gained 3lbs! I think another dog is the best answer. Lots of walkies! LOL CB >|< X
