Church, got a special licence because didn't live there anymore and it wasn't even in my mum and dads parish. Wanted that one as had gone there to youth club and same vicar was there. Years later it was the only church my mum and dad could find that would open specially for my mum after her sister had died so she could just sit.

I got married in a Hotel and it was really nice. We did everything in the one place - ceremony, reception and evening do. It made life so much easier for everybody and was really relaxed, but still romantic. Kaye x

Catholic Church February this year. I have been told I am more than likely to get an annulment - people have had a one for less reasons than mine. Natalia x

I got married in a church, all the trimmings, more years ago than I care to remember. It was the same church my parents had married in. Went back there last year and they have changed it, and not for the better (imho) Dee xx

I got married in a horrid little registery (spelling) office, 10 guests of which 4 where small children (2 ours), turned up at the restarant I had booked for a meal to find it closed. The flower shop forgot the flowers for my hair and I had been comfort eating for weeks leading up to the day and couldn't sit down in the dress as by the day it was to tight!!!I hated every minute of that day. If we had waited 6 months we could have had one of those nice one's in a Hotel garden somewhere. Oh well! still here 11 years later!! Tammy

Ran away to Gretna Green because of nagging of mothers to compete with sister in laws HUGE and very expensive wedding the year before. Just me, hubby and two witnesses off the street. I didn't have a dress, but I bought a nice suit. Wedding rings from H Samuels, and a weeks B&B in Fort William for a honeymoon. Had a real laugh. Felt like two naughty school kids. :o) Best day ever. (yes the family forgave us)! Claire xx

first time was in Reg office. nearly didnt go through with it though. but did because id be nagged by my nan. it was arranged in 4 weeks (and you could tell) only invited my nan grandad and 2 friends (bridesmaid and best man) neither could stand new hubbie. daughter was about 2 at the time, looked so pretty. my dress was awful and didnt fit, photographer was a letch, cake was vile and i had huge row in the restautrant after with hubbie as he went to play with fruit machines. second time august 2004 beautiful methodist church wedding, big frock, cadillacs x2, my best friend, her daughter and mine as bridesmaids, son was paige boy. lovely reception in converted barn. made even more special as my dad came, i had only found him in the april through this site. few raised eyebrows but i couldnt stop smiling. best thing i ever did was meet new hubbie. havent had honey moon yet, but planning to in the next few years. Bristol registry office as my husband's parents were divorced. He had lost contact with his dad, still not traced and was not speaking to his mum. We are still happily married twenty-seven years later and have five children. Many of my friends had big church weddings but the marriages did not last.. We did not have a honeymoon as we had already used up our holiday and I remember going home from my wedding changing and then going out to buy cat food as I had forgotten to lay in supplies. For our silver wedding anniversary we rented a villa in Paxos to make up.
