Our cat won't be left in a room alone and always seeks company. Guess she invites her friends in when both of us are out together. Neighbours say she visits them. My late aunt's late cat, Murphy, certainly preferred the light and used to leap at the old-fashioned light switches, if a room was in darkness, and pull them down Aunt had all switches, except one, reversed so that they were down when in the 'off' position. Murphy never learned to press them up. A previous cat of mine used to sit in the bathroom basin and turn on the tap. She also pulled all the toilet paper off the roll into a neat pile on the floor. It must have given her enormous pleasure. Maybe she was a golden labrador in a previous life? Len |

its possible im sure, my dog always gets nervous at lots of stuff, road cones, black bin bags rustling in wind, even lampost once, this time of year its fireworks, she hears um at miles away, and cuddles on our bed, she does sleep in daughters room most nights, but in ours when fireworks are going |

She maybe knows that when the light go out...the cuddles for her stop. My cat does a bit of yelling some night's too, but it's to get me to play 'fetch' her mouse. She is a house cat seems happy during the day but I think she gets the urge to out at night as she wanders back and forward,or races from one room to the other, having her mad half hour. She sleeps in the kitchen at night though. Marion |

Best get her checked out Donna. Our cat is a week into her thyroid treatment, got to have another blood test tomorrow. She also had a liver infection, so hoping that has cleared now. The eating hasn't slowed up much yet, but she is a lot less fidgety, but still very vocal. Ros. |

Oh dear didn't mean to worry you - I would be inclined to get her checked anyway - any change in behaviour - especially eating/drinking habits shouldn't be ignored - a simple blood test will tell :O) |

Get her checked out by your vet - these are potential symptoms of thyroid disease - my eldest went the same way including becoming extremely vocal!!! Had one thyroid gland removed about 2 years ago but he is displaying same behaviour again, which the vet warned me could happen!! Don't fret tho - it's nothing 'drastic' and can easily be overcome by removal or tablets (for life), but I would get her checked out. Anne xx |
