late last night my dear Great Uncle passed away aged 87 Sad yes, but not tragic as he lived his life as his chose and was a wonderful man. In the course of my research i found that he was born and given his fathers name despite the fact that his father died 4 years before he was born! He lived a simple happy life, was born in a house and lived there until the day he died.he looked after his mother, and never married ...and never had children, so we were his world -and he spoiled us rotten and never failed to appear without sweeties in his pockets. he lost his sight in his fifties and still managed to live almost independently right up to the end. dad shopped for him weekly and the nurse did his insulin injection every morning, until he was found collapsed on the floor on Thursday. I suppose it has only really just occured to me that it is the 'end of the line' for his family name, he was an only son and never married . God bless Uncle George, sweet dreams. I'm so glad i was able to share in the last few hours of your life - you were so much part of mine. xx |

he was just one of those people that you couldn't help but like. He'd argue with the radio in debates..Oh how he loved to argue with James Whale on talk Radio, but NEVER argued with a person. Funnily enough , when we were at his home yesterday we found heaven knows how many raffle tickets. he'd but a raffle ticket for anything to help any good cause. I understand he has left money for the local cats home - he would! he loved his cats! Reunited in heaven with his favourite cat ever - Baby Blue. Gawd only knows why he was called baby Blue , he was tortoiseshell! |
