Daniel I am awake for a particular reason, yes. I was idly looking through Ancestry civil reg for Emmets as first name, as this was the name of my gt gt grandfather and I had found a few bmds with this name as a 1st or middle name of people who turned out to be connected. I found a death for a William Emmets Matthews (same surname as my gt gt grandpa) but only 6 years younger, so I thought he might be a brother. So I've just found him on 4 censuses, found his 1st marriage and the baptisms of 2 of his children. Then I noticed what the time was - good job I get to catch up on an hour's sleep when the clocks go back! night night nell

you've answered you own question there Daniel - if it was meant to be pronounced SCON then it wouldn't have an E on the end
