Morning Annie, yes its a bit chilly here in Stoke on Trent too, and I am sure my daughter will have a lovely day, she has been looking forward to it for ages, she is doing a two year course whilst she is at the hairdressers so that she will have the first two years of qualifications by the time she leaves school, so she will have a head start on most people her age that want to do hairdressing. Hi Dave, My mum and dad were brought up in Harpurhay near Bernard Mannings Club, but I remember them telling me they used to go dancing at Belle Vue years ago in the sixties.........Happy Days as my dad describes them. Marie

Yes love my coal fire sometimes think should we change but then when it is cold and raining it is so cosey. Doesn't take long to clean and get going. i have my heaters running off it too. We have no gas as when we moved in it wasn't switched on and I had had a bad experience with the gas in the old house so didn't fancy it. Although coal can be costly it is so much less worry only the chimney sweep in to clean the chimney once or twice a year. Trouble is when anyone comes they will stand in fornt of it. If they don't fall asleep staring at it LOL Germaine x
