No Dee, I wouldn't. I hardly ever drink but with my luck the minute I signed someone would offer me a glass of champagne (which I love but hardly ever get):)))) Chrissie x |

Dee, when was it around please? You have sent me searching for an old photo of my ggfther playing the harmonium on a dray-led cart, for a Whitsuntide walk. I thought he was a Temp guy so I looked him up but can't find any specific Temp stuff, just loads of Methodist work. (pic around 1900?) xx Jen |

Well we seem to have a few people prepared to take the pledge. Lemon, I'd be careful of that Robin of Loxley if I was you, he has a way with words. ;-)) Jen The British Women's Temperance Association was formed in the late 1870's. It seems that groups had been set up locally as early as the 1830's Dee x |

My Grandmother was a leading light in the Temperance Legue. Grandad used to hide his beer under his chair whenever she walked into the room:)) They were called the white ribboners. |

I certainly would. Drinking damages your memory or your liver, but I can,t remember which one it is. Hoppy days (get it?) |

:-)) Dee, do you find yourself watching anything historical and thinking 'ooh, my Bramwells were in a cottage like that in the 1860s' etc? It's changed my thinking on history, architecture, art, politics - everything really. xx Jen |

Harry, I would answer your question, if I could remember what it was!!!!!!!!! Jen I must admit I do that as well. The other thing is that I find myself walking along a street wondering if my ancestors would have seen the buildings I am seeing (if you know what I mean) Dee x |
