Another thread bites the dust ! Anyway... almost had a disaster today. Had the helium for thr balloon release delivered to my parents yesterday as I was 'out of town'. Went to pick it up this morning... and it was the wrong size ! They'd only delivered enough gas for 200 balloons. One swift phone call and a 10 mile drive later and I managed to get there just before they shut to pick up the one I needed - PHEW !!! On the bright side, the chap knocked off £20 for my inconvenience, which means £20 more to the charity :)

Thats nice, about the 20 pounds I mean , glad it got sorted, which thread has gone now???

The one from a few days ago that I updated this morning to confirm when and where the balloon release is (Sunday, 4.30, Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes) lol

I cant understand it Paul, It just seems very odd that these threads would be deleted, I can think of a few that would be more of a priority to delete!!lol

I know what you mean, it amazes me too, but you have to laugh eh ? The thing is, I know it's against GR rules to as for money, whether its for commercial or charitable purposes - but surely some rules are meant ot be broken now and then ? Considering what goes on on here at times, I think they perhaps have their priorities wrong...

I can understand when ther delete threads that are about members making private money maybe. But I can't understand why theyw ont allow charity threads. and they have never explained why they wont either. good luck paul anyway. Ann Glos

I still suspect that someone is complaining, wouldn't surprise me at all, but I'll never know, so there's no point worrying about it. I'll just have to keep being 'persistent' !

Hi paul and all you other good people I thought when we first started this fund raising for gaynor that Gene's gave us thier blessing or am I wrong very sad of them for not wanting to help Howardxx

howard i think they delete them because people complain about charity threads............i dont know if people complain about indiviaual threads but they certanly complained about it in general !!! my hubby is fund raising for the same reason as Paul and u wud think GR wud b suportive especially as they r getting free publicity from many GR members who hav gone to their local papers etc as part of their fund raising activities and usually mention Gr as thats how we all knew Gaynor !! Lou

Jess, Yes it's the new bit at the M&S end. I guess it will be getting dark by then, but they have lights inside the shopping building, and I don't think the balloons will be afraid of the dark lol Diane - yes I got your cheque, thanks - thought I emailed you ? Paul

ahhh the a508, I know it well, thats where I had to go to get my helium this morning lol (Hartwell)

They'll fly extra high with Special Harwell hellium! **thinks 10 mins on A508 Mk > Hartwell... What do you drive ? A Ferarri? Lol Jess x
