My friend was lucky............... She has lost out a bit - she lent her money to buy some kitchen appliances recently - has got about half back. And she cancelled her credit card as she booked her a ferry ticket on it and didn't want to risk that she has the card number. It has also cost her £140 to get the lock on her front door changed, as partner had a key - which we assume was kept with her car keys, which is now in the possession of someone else !!!

I am glad your friend found out in time. It will take her a little time to put her trust in someone again but I'm sure she will in time. June xx

Anne, I really feel for your friend. Betrayal is a terrible thing. I have a friend who lived with a man for 17 years. He got up one day, made plans for dinner, and she never saw him again. Eventually she found out that he went back to his first wife. As you say, you never really know someone...your friend is lucky she has you. BC XX

Just glad she was found out before she took your friend for a ride also. Know she must be upset but looks like she has had a lucky escape. Hope she feels better soon Germaine x

Ok - here's the latest. She has been sentenced to 18 months for theft and deception. Apparently stole and cashed some cheques from a resident at the Care Home she previously worked at. This has been going on since Sept/Oct and she has carried on as normal with not a hint that anything was wrong! And the irony is, this Care Home is where my friends Nan is a resident, and she even got a letter from the Home advising of the theft, and my friend joked with her partner 'this wasn't you was it is that why you left' !!!!!! We have also discovered that she has been in prison before about 2 years ago - altho we don't know why, but most likely something similar, cos she owes money left right and centre. She has changed her name 3 times that we know of - and has basically told my friend a complete pack of lies about every aspect of her life, and even appears to have been living a 'double life' since my friend met her too. Even told a lie when she rang from the prison - said she had got 9 months and would serve half of that. My friend is coping very well as she has now reached the 'really angry' stage now knowing everything that she does. Just goes to show, you never know a person !!!!! Thanks Jacquie Understandably she is totally confused and in turmoil. Obviously doesn't want anything more to do with her and possibly even moreso depending on what we find out tomorrow. Poor thing just feels wretched that she has been 'duped' by so many lies - I don't think she will trust anyone new ever again !!!

Hi folks .............. Sorry for the delay - my friend has been here. Turns out 'partner' is in Bronzefield Prison Ashford Middx - but at present we do not know why. The police have told my friend this is a woman's prison for offenders who generally break a condition of parole or bail, so it sounds like there is more to the story to come. Friend had a phone call from her partner from the prison, but only for a couple of minutes and she couldn't say much - the solicitors are to pass on the details of what happened and partner is sending a letter and a visiting order tomorrow. It all happened on Friday - we know she was stopped by the police for a minor traffic offence, and we are surmising that she had to present her documents as we know she returned to her flat briefly in the afternoon. So it looks like something she has done caught up with her at that point. A lot of lies have been uncovered that she has told about her life and background. So that is all we know until tomorrow ................. The plot thickens !!!!

It sounds almost as if he/she was running from something or someone when she met your friend , and kind of took refuge. the police seemed to know too much! I wonder if the hesitancy is because she was arrested in another name or something equally strange. maybe the solicitor was the 'duty solicitor' at the time of the arrest Hope you 'll tell us the outcome soon

We are waiting with baited breath. By the way there aren't any prisons in Bromsgrove, but there are 3 in Redditch (aren't we lucky!) Ros.

She's asked if she can round in a bit, so will soon be enlightened.

SOLVED IT!!!!! Don't know all the details yet, but have just heard she has been tracked down .............. in Bromsgrove (?) prison !!!!

Diana Only since about May of this year! I feel so sorry for her - all the unanswered questions. I keep expecting to wake up and find I was dreaming it, so imagine how she feels! Glad to see you are Pink again :O) xx

Anne why is it that things of this kind always seem to happen to you. I vaguely remember one of your neighbours phoning you to see if some strange man, who was hanging around near your cars and turned out to be a thief, was anything to do withy you pmsl Juliexx
