I've just tried to register with them ..... but I understand you have to wait for an e.mail from them to confirm your registration .............. how long does this normally take please ? There is an item on e.bay that I desperately want . so have registered, just to be able to make a bid ..... The item is only available for another 6 hours ...... will I have my 'confirmation from E.bay' in time do you think ? Elaine ;-) |

Cheers for the advice ! I'm glad someone else is as cunning as me !! It finishes at 10.18pm (I think !) ... and I thought I would wait till the very end and then put a bid on ;-) but I've now put in 3 bids !!!!!!! Talk about addictive ....no wonder folks get into trouble with it ! I just hope that the people bidding against me are members of Genes ... and use the Irish Parish Records to help others ! ...... I've bid £8.50, and I'm leaving it now ...see who carries on bidding. lol ...... how do I pay ???????? !!!!!!!!!!!! lets hope I work it out BEFORE I end up with the item !.at the very last minute. Elaine ;-) |

Elaine To help win the item - decide what your maximum price is and enter that as your higher/highest bid - the system then automatically bids for you by the required amount each time someone else beats you ........... ie. if you bid a max of £10 and the item is at £4.20 and someone bids upto £4.50 - the system will increase your bid to £4.70 say - and continue doing so upto your maximum if others bid :O) Alot of people give up if they keep trying and getting outbid. |

My other half always waits till the last 30 seconds sometimes down to 20 seconds. It is so nerve racking. but he always wins. All depends on how fast the page loads. I have seen what you are looking at and will watch later on. Good luck. Debbie |

I always try to wait till the last minute to put my final bid. Usually win if not it goes for more than I had wished to pay anyway. Hope you get it. Germaine x |

Anne I have never been sure how that maximum bid works. Now I knowknow. I have just started selling on there. In two weeks I have sold 5 items, no one seems to want my rubbish now. Thanks for the tips. |
