i notice an awful lot of people get their to's and toos mixed up on here. also people get their there's wrong too. from the ages i presume even the youngest on here left school at least 10 years ago. do we forget? are we teaching our own children wrong and then blaming them for not being as educated as us? discuss..... |

And their theres... i think it is the society that we now live in - he who critisises gets sued! Why learn to spell when computers gave you spellchecker, or add up when you can use a calculator....? |

I was watching something last night where it said that some parents were actually doing their children's course work and therefore the child was becoming less literate all the time!! I think also that text speak has affected spelling too! |

I think a lot of people do it accidentally when they're typing and don't check. Well that's what I do:) |

I genuinely don't mind the lapses of grammar etc on here, as long as the message gets over. I am always in a rush replying to threads and sometimes don't pay too much attention to my own grammar! I am now going two play for a minute or too...lol BC |

Sometimes it's a genuine mistake, not ignorance. It's when I see the errors in print or on signs that I think, how many people have seen that before it was unleashed on the public and not realised that it's wrong? Or were they worried about making the boss look like a moron if they pick up a mistake s/he missed? |

I'm with Meercat for a 'chat' board. I do get picky with official literature. To buy two apples would be too many. :o) |

The one that really gets me is not using a capital 'i' when referring to oneself, my son does it all the time and it drives me crazy!!!!!! Julie xxx |
