Oops Hi Jan typing the same time. I saw your thread & thought it was a very nice gesture to thank Maz like that as others have thanked people for sending cards. In fact there is a very long thread going at the moment people thanking people for sending Christmas cards there are a couple of others advertising business's but the trolls have left them alone thats what I thought strange? 'Tis the season to be jolly tra la la' I was just singing 'Deck the Halls' & realised it has that word 'troll' in its lyrics even if its the other meaning of the word :-))))))) LMHO. Pat x

Yes Peter ain't it just. lol. It wasn't my thread, if it had been I would be more angry I suppose. Maybe moderators would be a better idea, why shouldn't Genes take more responsibility for the boards they should do the dirty work rather than asking us and NON members to do it, I would pay more for such things as fairness. I didnt break any rules - I put a thread up thanking for a wonderful card that was sent to me and Rick - my thread was deleted !! Lots of people were thanking others and so I did too - But they chose to delete my thread. xx

Pat I know what you are saying, but unfortutunately you do not have a leg to stand on if the rules are broken. Similary if someone claims they are offended, the thread will go, as GR does not adjudicate. Life is a bitch I'm afraid.

Pat

Pat Report 9 Dec 2005 18:17

Peter, We are aware of the guidelines & I am not disputing the fact that if the guidelines are broken then those threads will be deleted. That is not what I was saying it's the selective nature of the deletions, not all of these types of threads are reported & definitely not all are deleted, that is the problem & as Mandy says many of these threads are actually innocent to put a thread up to thank someone for a lovely christmas cards does NOT break any rules yet these threads have been deleted!!!!! I have noticed a couple of threads breaking those guidelines you quote they are still here on this board. That's what wrong not the threads themselves. I cannot stand injustice, I believe everyone should be treated the same. Some people need to get out more, they need to remember this is the season of goodwill & as Ann so rightly says 'live and let live'. Whoever they are I hope they feel good about themselves they must spread muck wherever they go. I still maintain threads are targetted not always because of the contents but because of the author it's always like that here. Pat x

Like it or not there are guidelines for the use of the messge boards. such as:- Don’t advertise. Don’t use the service for any business or commercial or charitable purpose, or to promote any alternative commercial service. So Charities are out, sorry, however well intende.

Pat The problem is I don't think you have to be a paid member to complain about a thread. Why can't people live and let live? What does it matter if a few cards are sold and mentioned on here? Nobody is losing out by it. Unless they sell the same things or would like to and are jealous. (And I cn assure you it is not me, I may make cards but have only ever sold them for charity and not very often either. Ann Glos

Pat Report 9 Dec 2005 17:18

Ann, I reckon there's more than one and it depends on the thread & the author of that thread :-( There aren't that many people who are as refreshingly honest as Chrissie :-))) Pat x
