He's due his cataract op on Thursday and the silly sod has somehow burst a blood vessel in the eye he's due the op on, so they may now postpone it!! This would be a disaster for him cos he was so looking forward to seeing this crimbo!! And those of you that don't know, Daddy is profoundly deaf too, so this is so so needed!! Please keep everything crossed that they do it! Thanks Pink Diana xx

Diana, I hope your Dad's eye heals soon. I understand what you're going through. I had exactly the same situation with my mother - very deaf, cataracts in both eyes and macular degeneration. We were told, before she had the first cataract op that 98% of those ops were very successful. My mother, being the self-willed person she was, refused to follow doctor's orders and lie flat for 24 hours at home (my home) after the operation or to have drops put into the eye when necessary, so she became one of the 2% who didn't benefit from the op. She then refused to have the op on the other eye because the first one hadn't worked! I hope sincerely that your Dad is a model patient and you can get him to do what's best for him! :>) >*|*< X

How disappointing. My hubby had his first cataract op a few months ago and the difference it's made is amazing. His second eye was done 3 weeks ago but unfortunately that wasn't quite as successful. When your dad has his done I'm sure he'll be really pleased with the result - I hope it's all done and dusted by Christmas.
