thanks marnie, i know what you mean about snacking! i'm never out of the biscuit tin!!!! i do get cravings but i never give into them, what a waste that would be to go back on them! can't sleep at the moment, but it's not because of the cravings,it's because of the graves disease i have, [ it affects the thyroid, makes it go over active ] that was one of the reasons why i quit because smoking can make it worse, and i felt so much better when i stopped, untill i started on the sleepless nights again, which i get every so often. |

I'm so fortunate. My parents didn't smoke, so I was in a smoke free house as a child. Smokign was so prevalent, when we went out and refused ciggies, I was told - Go on, enjoy yourself! you're a long time dead' In giving up, you're not only h elping yourself, you're helping others. Keep it up, us non-smokers appreciate it Love Anne |

Chris Just you hang in there you are doing great ....you dont' smoke. Keep telling yourself that. take a nice breath of fresh air in instead of a yucky puff that will make you feel sick and could start you off again. Put the money away that you would have spent on ciggies and see how it grow's ! I have a halo on my head now.... I used to smoke lol. I gave up over 20 yrs ago. I hate the 'stink' of it but the silly thing is I still get the odd feeling of wanting to light -up. One little puff could be fatal so dont. Have a lovely xmas and a healthier and wealthier new year. Marion :)) |

bridget, hope you sucseed again in the new year, i havn't given in, i think because it's christmas and that this time last year i was a smoker and used to enjoy a ciggie. i have quit twice before years ago and have always gone back on them, like you, i was on holiday and thought 'just while i'm on holiday'! as you say 'FATAL'! and i had been off them 18 mths!! the next time i had been off them 6 mths then moved house, yep,-----i started again! this is my 3rd time,so 3rd time lucky!! they say it takes a few times of quiting before you do it for good and that you learn to cope with things better, i found that out a few weeks ago, my brother told me he had cancer, he's ok tho, he's having chemo and it has'nt spread, but i did'nt even want a ciggie!! where as any other time i would of lit up straight away. anyway good luck in the new year. |
