A mnemonic to remember the kings and queens of England Willie, Willie, Harry, Stee, Harry, Dick, John, Harry Three One, Two, Three Neds, Richard Two Henries Four Five, Six… then who? Edward Four, Five, Dick the Bad Harries twain and Ned the Lad Mary, Bessie, James the Vain Charlie, Charlie, James again William and Mary, Ann Gloria Four Georges, William and Victoria Edward Seventh next, and then George the Fifth on 1910 In’ 36 came Edward Eight Who, in that year, did abdicate George Six he of gentle mien Elizabeth Two, God save the Queen

Thirty days has September,April,June and November All the rest have 31 except for February alone which has 28 days clear and 29 each leap year. Not technically a mnemonic but helps with number of days in each month Susan

Many young Australian, Kiwi and British children remember the compass points in order in clockwise with the phrase Never Eat Soggy Weet-bix, or Never Eat Shredded Wheat (North, East, South, West).

'Spring forward, fall back'....a way to remember how the clocks are changed- forward one hour in Spring and back one hour in Autumn 'Separate is A RAT of a word to spell!'......helps spell this very misspelled word (separate not seperate) 'When 2 vowels go walking, the first does the talking'......eg: moat, eat etc-

'Big Elephants Can't Always Use Small Exits' is one we use to remember how to spell BECAUSE. One of my sons could never spell 'said' so we used Sally Ann Is Disgusting. Also, Never Eat Shredded Wheat for the points on a compass. Carolyn
