I used to knit loads, then i got a pc....lol I may just take it up again as home made stuff is much nicer, anyone got a pattern for anything to do with Winnie the Pooh? my god-daughter loves anything with Winnie on and she has a birthday in March...should be enough time to knit her a little something. LL - pmsl My Dad told me my Mum's gran used to make him socks - but 'freehand' no pattern - he would end up with one huge foot with a short leg, and one small foot and a long leg pmsl I said - but didn't she knit another pair the same so you could match them ?? lol

Hi Anne, I used a wool called Cosmic and size 8mm needles.....the big ones!! 2 balls of Cosmic 25 sts knit every row and away you go... Cosmic wool is made by Wendy Wools. I have made loads of them for presents and they are lovely. gorgeous colours I am on a rather bright pink one at the moment for a friend. Happy Kniiting.... Maisie

Mine was 4mm needles and three balls of wool, 40 stitches. This makes a lovely long scarf. I bought mine a s aset in Hobbeycraft. Ann Glos

Fair Anne, thanks for that - have just checked the Sirdar website - there are 3 stockists of Sirdar wool in Spain - 2 of which are within a 15 minute drive from where I live!! I think might start knitting!

Hi Anne I just finished one......was lucky, saw balls of wool in a POUND SHOP!!! so it only cost me £2 Has been admired by lots of folks!! LOL You need to use (english) size 5mm...........I cast on 25 stitches + it was plenty wide enough. 2 Balls (50g)will be enough BUT if you want to put 30 stitches on , then you may need another ball. I just did PLAIN KNIT throughout. Happy Knitting:) Ann
