Can't believe it's a year since I did this. 150 people - cheap and easy but classy (the recipes not the people!). If it can be made ahead and frozen even better. Daisy

Spread philladelphia or boursin on ham, roll it up, chill then cut into slices. Wrap bits of streaky bacon around prunes (fix with cocktail stick) & put in oven - (Devils on horseback) Yum Can I come too?

PMSL Could go back to www*deedpoll*com and change my surname to Jones? Can I also sugest slices of salami, cubes and feta and olives on cocktail sticks and my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Saganaki! (Saganaki - Buy Haloumi cheese. Slice it into 1cm pieces and coat both sides in egg and then flour Fry in olive oil until crispy Serve hot or cold with lemon juice and sprinkled with dried rosemary)

The bases for mini pizzas can be made up in advance and frozen. Bring them out, leave them covered for an hour or so, till ready to make up and slap on home made toppings. Little tuna fishcakes - did I post the recipe last year? - are also very good. You can make them in advance, freeze them and store them in plastic bags to transport them.

If you can be bothered with something this fiddly - cut tops off cherry tomatoes, scoop out the insides and fill them with tuna mayo, scrambled egg & chive or finely chopped chicken in curry mayo Roll out an oblong of puff pastry to twice its original size, spread with anchovy paste or any smooth pate, roll it up lik a Swiss roll, cut into thin rounds and bake in a hot oven for 10 minutes Fill mini vols-au-vent with creamed stilton and put a seedless white grape on top, instead of the pastry lid Remove crusts from five slices of thinly sliced bread, spread four of them with pate or flavoured cream cheese, then place them one on top of the other with a plain slice on top. Press down firmly, then slice into squares to make striped mini sandwich towers. If you alternate slices of white and brown bread, it gives a stripey effect.

On the day what about fruit kebabs with a melted choccy fondue??? You could put chunks of pineapple, orange segments, large grapes, etc (I would avoid apple and banana as they don't keep well on the tablel) on those wooden sticks you can buy in packs for barbecues and arrange on a very large plate with a fondu bowl in the middle. Also crudites of thinly sliced raw orange, yellow and red peppers, carrots, cauliflower, celery, plus whole sugar snap peas with a variety of dips including sour cream, cheese humus (spelling?). Daisy, bacon savouries are great. On a slice of bread put a mixture of beaten eggs, grated cheese, diced bacon, cayenne pepper. Put in oven till golden. Can be cut into fingers or squares. Yummy. Also using puff pastry - cut a sheet in half. Spread on butter then tomato paste. Next spread with a mixture of cheese, eggs, onion, bacon. Roll like jam roll & cut into slices then lay flat on tray. Cook in oven. We sometimes add tuna or pineapple as variety but anything you like can be added. Enjoy!! Chris
