Hi Christine I don't get there often these days, but hope to come up when the weather improves, so will bear that in mind I had planned to meet another member there last year, but things went pear shaped. I really must try to get to that neck of the woods again soon Dee (who now lives in Kent - sadly) btw - I will try to remember to bring blinkers with me ;-))

Hi everyone I have a little story to tell and it is all true! About 5 years ago I went to the Los Angeles for a holiday. We decided to take a trip to the Grand Canyon via Las Vegas. Our visit to the Grand Canyon was to the reservation on the Hualapai (?) indian reservation where we would be their guests at the Grand Canyon for the day. We were taken on the tour by an Indian by the name of Sharon (I am not joking!) and, after standing on the edge of that great precipise, listening to her stories of Indian life there, we were to be their guests at lunch. The meal was served and eaten with great relish and, whilst we were eating the natives set out their stalls to sell us their goods. One stall was manned by a huge native american, dressed in his traditional gear, he was an artist and was selling his small, painted stones and telling us of the legends that they depicted. After a while he noticed our accents and asked where we came from . I told him that we lived just outside London in a place called Essex. He thought for a moment and, amid all that natural grandeur and Native American trappings, he told us that one of his best friends came from HARLOW! and do you know what? I can't remember his name!!!!!! Steve

Julie Anne. It's my memory I'm bothered about as I am 18yrs older than my sister,Hopefully she may remember where the train station is where I will be arriving. If memories are that bad in Harlow I may loose my memory altogether while I am down there and forget where I live.LOL Sue

Dunno about your probs with Harlow, Malc, but I was damned glad to see it yesterday evening when we were driving home to Herts from the Essex meet! We took the wrong road out of Chelmsford and were heading for Southend! Luckily we found the way back after too much longer - it's a bit cold for paddling on the beach at this time of year! CB >|<
