Dee, I don't get any warning at all. We work on the top floor and last year there was a problem with the air conditioning units which until then I had been blisfully unaware of in the roofspace above. One morning I came in to find a lump of ceiling on my desk, a big gaping hole above, and water dripping through from some ominously shaped lumps in the roof with pipes on that I couldn't look at. Took months to sort that out and while it was going on they left the ceiling tiles off. I freaked out and could sit there, or even within view of there. They had to move me to the other side of the open plan office which was a bit of a problem for the people I work with. And every time I needed something off my desk I had to ask someone to get it as the thought of walking under the gaping hole with pipes and machinery in made me feel sick. I blame my dad - he was a bit of a mad inventor and always had the back off tvs etc when I was small. I used to get faint when I walked in a room and saw him rummaging in the back of an old valve style tv with all those wires. Angela
