Yes. They can have anything they want and use it in whichever way they want. When 'I' 've gone there won't be anything left! |

There's supposed to be some wacky scientist. You donate your body to 'science'. Then I think he skins you and somehow preserves your body. And then you are exhibited with all your organs showing. Anyone seen that documentary? I agree with organ donation in principle. |

I saw some of one, were a weird scientist preserved the bodies and dicected them on tv Anatomy for Beginners on channel 4 (Dr Gunther von Hagens)- very informative but a bit grusum. I saw the digestive system and part on the reproductive system (male half only as the tape ran out - can still see him cutting |

I'm on the register. People are welcome to any bits that are still usable when I'm gone. Some bits will probably be more usable than others, but brain and eyes have gone to pot since I started this genealogy lark. nell |

Lucia, didn't see the documentary, we have it on display though at the Royal Ontario Museum. Seems he uses some kind of sylicone, them kind of emboms it. My niece went to see it a couple of weeks ago, her boyfriend was grossed out but she's a med student and enjoyed it emmencly. (spelled wrong). LOL Hubby wants to go, he likes things like that. He can go alone. LOL and yes I'm on the donor list but don't know if they'll want anything by the time I'm finished with it. Debs |

You don't have to carry a card anymore as you can register on line. I did. You are given various options as to what is allowed to be taken. Jacky :-) |

I am on the organ donor register - I joined because I think that if I can be of use after death then so much the better (and the ulterior motive was..................if enough people register then there might be enough spare should I ever need a transplant - selfish, but sensible) I do know a man who has had a heart transplant and I think the work is marvellous. Yes I think if you are on the register there should be no need to ask the relatives, otherwise what is the point. Thought this was done so that if you were in some sort of accident they could get on with things before it was too late. Germaine x |

I'm not on it - but that's because I don't see the point. Even if you're on the register they still have to ask premission from your next of kin before they take anything. My Mum and my aunts all know that any bits of me they want they can have as long as they leave me any bits I need to make a 'whoooshing' sound should I become a ghost Z xx |

I asked my GP if it was worth carrying a donor card at my age. The reply was 'I'm sure we can find some useful bits and pieces - keep on carrying it'. len |
