Nothing wrong with your kitchen Jess, sounds like my units lol !! & I love mine too there's no way i'd change them to suit any other peeps! Lazy b***ers most of them if they can't pick up a brush & a tin of paint! Best of luck in whatever you decide. :0) Joan xx |

its a bit like the road noise comment - why do you need to come and stand in my lounge and listen for road noise? isn't that the homework you do when researching the area? Still cant work that one out!what BL**dy Road noise? hey ho, I keep saying last veiwing, last veiwing, then he reminds me that my mother cannot be accomodated in the shed, nice as it is... xx |

This is just the sort of thing my Husband and I have been talking about recently - when we view a house we manage to look past the furniture and decor and see what we need to, so why do some people find it so hard? Sometimes I think some people must be incredibly dense? We bought our house about 5/6 years ago and it still had the horrible Avocado Green bathroom suite, needless to say we have since ripped it out and replaced it with something a bit more tasteful - but you never know, one day they might be considered antique and desireable. lol Sure someone will come along soon and find your house just right for them Jess - there's a lot of property on the market right now and I guess they're all spoiled for choice. Good luck Kaye x |

When my parents were selling our old house - a normal 3 bed semi - one woman came in and said 'I won't be able to fit my baby grand piano in here' - did she not read the details BEFORE she came for a viewing??? Some people must be mad!! Tammy :~) |

We are in the middle of selling our house and must admit to getting a little frustrated with some of the people who have been round viewing our property! One of the best that we have had though has to be a bloke who came round a couple of weeks ago! We do not have central heating which even though we have had the opportunity of having we personally dont feel is necessary to have as our house is extremely warm throughout the year! However that is stated not only in the estate agents but also in the price that we are asking for the house! Anyway this bloke moaned about everything and when he said he needed it to be very very very hot, my partner asked him why he didnt just buy abroad!!!! Bevx |

I don't know if you have had them, but the ones I hated most were those who were obviously looking around just for something to do. |

In the 80's when I was moving, I looked at hundreds of houses, in many of them the vendor would say - just had this decorated, just put this new carpet in - and I would think yuck, not my taste at all, and I am paying for all this new stuff which I couldn't live with. Found a house that needed updating and was much happier - I could see beyond the decor and faded carpets, and the price was much more realistic! I hate these progs. where people view and say, oh look at these dreadful ornaments, or criticise the owners furniture, - for goodness sake, you are not buying that, have you no imagination to see your own things here? I love the progs for the ideas I get and I am so nosey so love looking in other people's houses, but could scream when the viewers are so thick. |

Jess Don't take it off - this is the best time to sell! I'm sure you've been asked this before but can't you extend? Don't try to get too disheartened - it's probably because you need to sell it that it's hitting you harder - hang in there. Debby |

The bad new is when you finally find someone who wants buy the house they usually want all the extras curtains/blinds/lawnmower and when you agree to leave them they then stick in a offer of about 5,000 lower than you are asking. Louise |

She came... she saw...., She went again.... I liked her!Doesnt mean she'll buy my house though. She insisted i let Bobbin out...and the agent insists she must be away or elsewhere! Oh well. Stupid thing is , it isn't a 'want to move' its a need to. so frustrating Jess x |

Hope todays the day for you. We lived under a flight path and somebody came to view and went straight out into the garden first, just as a Plane came over, she ran back in said she could not live there and went without even looking at the House,so why view it then, it was a well known area for Planes. Total waste of time . |

Jess your kitchen sounds fab :0)))))))) When I was offered the house we're living in now the decor was awful, looked like it hadn't been decorated since the 70's but I expected a house that I would have to decorate to my own taste anyway. Juliexx |

I think Janet is spot on. A lot of people are lukewarm, at best, about moving house when they decide to have a look at what's on the market. The excuses you are hearing Jess are the best that they can think off to explain why they can't go any further. I would not let it put you off. We are just coming up to the peak season for buying/moving house. There will be a lot of serious viewers coming out of the woodwork soon. K |
