Diana Would you think it awful if I offer a donation to buy some of these things. The cost of the postage would buy quite a few more pencils etc. I could send a cheque to whoever is co-ordinating this. Sorry it seems like I can't make the effort but that really isn't the case. Pat

If anyone can lay hands on those self-erasing, cardboard 'Etch-a-Sketch' things, they'd be a good idea, so would small notepads - lined or plain. Paper might not be too readily available to these children. Some other things that might appeal are *party poppers and balloons (especially the ones with the plastic bit on the end that makes a noise when you blow them up and let them go). Hair ribbons, slides, fancy hairclips, etc would be good for the girls. ... and NO chocolate! LOL CB >|< * I've just been told that those probably wouldn't be allowed on the plane, so best check first before taking any.

Diana, can I add something. When travelling through villages (a lot were in the desert) in the Middle East, the thing the children were most fascinated with in our car were the boiled sweets and the tissues. On subsequent visits, we always made sure we had the small handy packs of tissues with us. They are light and can be squashed down. Good luck! Jacky :-)
