Sorry! Your heart just starts racing double time all of a sudden and stops just as quick (most times). |

Daily My heart feels like its racing and bangs away in my chest sometimes so bad I can feel it in my throat as well. I find somewhere to sit quietly as an Anxiety attack usually takes place within the next 5 mins. got used to it now |

It's probably a bit of stress or anxiety, Anne...but have a check up anyway. I should think.....XXX BC |

I had an irregular heartbeat. Went for a check up once and the girl testing ran out of the room and brought the doctor. On another occasion I paid for a BUPA check-up and when they discovered the irregularity, the doctor brought in a team of medical students to view same' It never caused me any problems and went normal under excercise. Bit disturbing in bed as you are listening for it. Had a heart operation unconnected to the above and it is now rectified. Don,t worry about it. Happy days |

hi anne, palpitations, are when your resting heartbeat races for no apparent reason. heart rhythm is two beats, two beats, two beats, but sometimes the heart will miss a beat...however if this continues,it would be best to see a doctor. bryan. |

I agree with Nana...........too much caffeine......i suffered when i was 26....worked too many hours......didnt eat properly......... drank loads of coffee to stay awake............and would have a few pints on the way home.....! Had lots of tests done, all inconclusive. Turned out to be too much coffee. Never touch the stuff now. Nick |

If it is accompanied by feeling extremely hot, exhausted and shakes, I would get your thyroid gland checked as this is symptoms of over-active thyroid. Tricia |

Thanks everyone :O)) I drink tea - altho not in copious amounts - but I also drink a couple or so cans of diet coke most days - maybe that's it. Or it might just be an anxiety thing that I am not aware of - it's just a flutter in the middle of my chest - but sometimes I do get a feeling that follows it which feels a bit like when you get anxious, exicted, scared. I will keep monitoring it for progress :O)) |

feels like hearts in your throat sometimes beating, sometimes you can hear it like a ticking noise if its beatin hard enough remember standing by my mum once and could hear hers , she suffered bad palpatations, cup your hands over your mouth , take slow deep breaths in and out, till it slows back down, or use paper bag if you got one its not pleasant feeling |
