Sorry, that's not the right answer. By convention times are separated by a colon, not a dot. So the answer would be 10:50. Please try again. |

OK - I gave in & have now found out the answer question = 10 10 11 = 10.50 You have to put a line above the second 1 & then what does it read - 10 T0 11 = 10.50 groan!!! |

binary ? isn't binary 1 in the rightmost position equal to decimal 1 10101 = 21 ( 1*16) + (0*8) + (1*4) + (0*2) + (1*1) 1 = 1 (1*1) 10 = 2 (1*2) + (0*1) a rethink is needed http://www.geocities(.)com/binary_converter/ |

I think that explanation has left most of us speechless !!!!!! ---- or should I have said --- Now why didn´t I think of that !!!!!!!!! |

BrianW | Report | 2 Mar 2006 13:28 |

Maybe it's binary. Binary 10101 is 21 in arabic numerals Binary 1 is 2 in arabic CORRECTION: see below, it's 1 Put a slash between the last two digits of 101011 to represent 'divide by' So 10101/1 =10.5 Or, in arabic 21 divided by 2 = 10.5 UPDATE: not quite right ! For that to work the original number would be 1010110, not 101011 |
