Anne.......I've got laminate in the bathroom, hall, living room and is being done in the kitchen as I type!!!! lolol The three bedrooms all have carpet - which I will eventually replace with laminate too!!! When you see the amount of dust, crap, food, crumbs and general dirt that accumulates on laminate flooring its quite sickening to think that was all engrained into a carpet!! I find it much easier to keep clean (Sue do not laff at that comment) although the first year I had it done I did notice a big difference in the heat/cold factor. Now I'm used to it! It does get scratched tho which is a shame cos it kinda spoils it...but there aint a lot I can do about that with my herd of elephants here!!!! pmsl |

got to go for carpet then- all our houses would look dusty and dirty with laminate, at least it hides in carpet! |

We've got laminate through our kitchen and hall. I like it because it's easy to keep clean and looks good. The downside is that it scratchs and knocks easily. I like the feel of carpet under my feet - makes the house nice & cosy. You have to strike a balance between comfort and practicality. I wouldn't have it in a room where furniture is constantly being moved over it, such as a dining room chair, as I can see it would become damaged. |

prefer carpet. I notice folk with laminated flooring start covering parts up with rugs, and complain about the noise, and the dust which seems to constantly settle even when cleaned often. |
