If I'm unlucky the flaming spectrums still in the attic. can anyone imagin the fustration of a 7yr ols watching their father try and boot up a specturm for 12 hours on a Sunday? In the end the only thing we could play was triviel persuit! a heap of junk it was if you ask me. My SNES was much more fun and it still works! Just remembered that I can still boot up the old school computers - the ones from the late 80's, BBC computers I think they were, you had to press and hold Alt Ctrl and Rtn at the same time - must have been 5 first time I had to do that. How things have changed now we press the on botton and up pops windows.

Paul.................a Spectrum 48k with a '' dead flesh'' keyboard..........still got one...........also got two bbc micro's and about two hundred floppies..........them was the days............ it was a miracle going from a tape to a floppy disc amazing when you realise that a shortcut on windows can be more than the whole of a beebs useable memory..........

I've given up watching it, its at 98%, so should be fine now. I sold the spectrum at a car boot a while back :o) We still have a megadrive in the loft though

yes you're right. This is restoring from 4 LTO tape drives, down a twin fibre channel into a 6 CPU unix server. 2.5terabytes of data, spread over about 200 disk drives. fairly big lol (I had a sinclair spectrum too, one of the first ones with the rubber keyboard)

Paul abot 40 gig, from memory, but that was running alot of sercurity programs simaltiniously. It can still take an hour with everything shut down! Size is not the only factor mind, you have to take into consideration the processing speed. *remembers spending 12 hours booting up a spectum as a kid*
