Hello GC When I had real concerns regarding my son's recovery last year, I rang the consultant and spoke to his secretary - he was in theatre at the time. He phoned me back about an hour later and we discussed the matter, culminating in me taking my son to A & E as a precautionary measure. As these people are experts in their field, I would advise taking this course, if possible (I had such a fantastic team), as they can ultimately put your friends mind at rest. Good luck and best wishes. Helen x

NHS DIRECT are not only for possible emergencies, they are an advisory service...you will speak to a nurse, and if necessary, will be passed on to a doctor...well worth a call. 0845 46 47. bryan.

I would say the same about no note, but it is obviously worrying to the lady in question.

Unknown Report 4 Mar 2006 23:37

Granny If there is no note anywhere about it, it cannot be of any medical significance. nell

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:31

She has asked her GP, and the hospital, but nobody has any record of what was said to her. The nurse never made of note of it.

Unknown Report 4 Mar 2006 23:29

Well we can conjecture all we want, but I think the best thing is for your friend to get the real deal from her GP. It's not always easy to take in what is said, especially when you've just come round from an op. nell

I know what you are saying Helen, but it is something that was said to her when she came round after minor surgery. She is convinced that is why she cannot catch on.

Thank you Webster.

I think that she may have misunderstood what the midwife said. Muscles play no part at all in conception, doesn't matter how weak or strong they are.

not something i have heard of granny but if you leave the thread up i will ask one of the midwives on monday at work

Granny

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:12

Really don't know which muscle. As I said on earlier post that is all that was said. Surely the nurse should have written it down.
