As I'm having trouble finding one, all I can say is good luck Lynda. I'm sure you will cope if it comes to the crunch. Good luck. Granny

No, I am too old for that. I just want some information.

You don't need water for cystitus - honestly I've had that - what you need then is a Dr, and a quick prescription.

Whatever the women's problem is, I bet there's a website devoted to it. If you don't want to mention it here, try googling. I think its fair to say that midwives can only offer advice on pre-conceptual and prenatal care, childbirth and postnatal care including breastfeeding. nell

Thanks Helen, I will try that. I just want to know about a muscle - difficult to explain.

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:02

Never tried that Theresa, there again I have only had it once. Thank goodness.

Granny

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:06

It isn't really my problem, but I am concerned for someone else, who has taken what was said to her to heart. I am sure it cannot be right, which is why I just wanted advice.

If you're on about pelvic floor muscles, there's probably stacks of info on the internet, not to mention leaflets in your local pharmacy.

Webster, this person was told she could not conceive because of a muscle, but I have never heard anything like it. Has anyone else.

Websterbfc

Websterbfc Report 4 Mar 2006 23:09

which muscle granny?? not heard of not being able to conceve for that reason, maybe can cause problems carrying baby full term

Granny

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:10

I don't know which muscle, but she went in for IVF, and a nurse told her she had a really strong muscle. She has taken that to mean it is stopping her from conceiving. she has asked, but the nurse never made a note of it.

Could you be referring to a prolapsed Muscle Granny? Lin xx

Granny

Granny Report 4 Mar 2006 23:12

Really don't know which muscle. As I said on earlier post that is all that was said. Surely the nurse should have written it down.

not something i have heard of granny but if you leave the thread up i will ask one of the midwives on monday at work

Unknown

Unknown Report 4 Mar 2006 23:16

I think that she may have misunderstood what the midwife said. Muscles play no part at all in conception, doesn't matter how weak or strong they are.

Thank you Webster.
