AAARRRGGGHH. PERMISSION TO CHANGE MY MIND NOW MISS? My carry on bag is my day sack which will have the stuff we need with us everyday as well as spare underwear, a spare t-shirt and a foil bag to sleep in if my sleeping bag goes AWOL like Diana's did once! Am wearing my boots, socks, t-shirt, zip off trousers and fleece to travel in. Have just realised my poles are 1 inch too long for my huge kit bag but am going to give it all a trial run tomorrow and hope for the best. At least if I have to buy a slightly larger bag I know my kids will use it on one of their many adventures so it won't be a waste of money! By the way girls - it's arrived!!!! ;O))) Daisy

Daisy my trekking poles are quite big,but i can get them in my rucksack because it has 2 separate bits that can be made into one big one.I can put your poles in my rucksack if you like, save you buying another bag lol. Im wearing my fleece and waterproof coat, boots etc to travel in,and ive also got a foil blanket thing in my hand luggage(thanks for the tip in October about that Diana lol). Jack thats what i was going to do with my pants every night too lol. I bought cheap big knickers with the intention of only wearing them once.Saves taking too much dirty stuff back home :-) Anna :-)

I started packing last night, and can't believe that so little can weigh so much, i am worried it will be too much but have no idea how to work it out!! I plan to travel with my day sack as hand luggage, my large bag is an army kit bag, and holds my sleeping bag and mattress....and leaves little room for anything else! MInd you i am starting to wonder if i can have a snack bag as well.....lol. Yvette

hi guys, Started packing last night, worried about what to put where, but diana as said that sleeping bags are fastened to the outside of our large rucksacks that the camels carry, glad I asked otherwise i would of been going out to buy a bigger one so everything could fit in o.k, Hope this answers your earlier question Andy, about the same thing. Clare xx

I have packed and unpacked and now everything is on the floor in piles. Hubby was interfering (sorry helping) and so I will do it tomorrow as he is working away for a couple of days. The dogs and the cat were also also helping and the dogs kept getting my socks out and running away with them!! So have given up til tomorrow!!! lol I'm taking my day sack as hand luggage with some essentials in, in case big bag goes awol!! In big bag I'm also taking a smaller bag with my last night stuff and clean t-shirt etc for travelling home in. Don't you think 'big bag' has a comforting ring about it!! Now all I've got to do is borrow some bathroom scales to weigh the bags on lol. See you all Saturday. Jxx

Jean - don't worry love it's an emergency measure in case the sleeping bag goes missing. Clare - the sleeping bags still have to go in the main kitbag on the plane though and that's my problem. I thought my kitbag was huge but it now seems very small. Anna - thanks for the offer but the guy in the trek shop has shown me how to dismantle my poles and they should fit. Have you all got really large rucksacks or big sports kit bags? Mine looks a little worse for wear the more I look at it so I may go out and get another tomorrow anyway. Daisy

Well, I've just packed... hmmm that was a bit of a struggle lol I've not actually fitten in my 'last night' clothes yet. Not quite sure what to do with them, hopefully I'll manage to squeeze them in, was hoping to get away without them getting creased up but... oh well !!

I thought my trekking bag would be big enough, I have just managed to close it with a stuggle...........then saw my trainers.........lol. It would be OK if it wasn't for the sleeping mat. My clothes for the last night are going to be left in a plastic bag at the hotel, cause I haven't got the room to pack another bag. I will also have to carry my pillow and tourch in my hand luggage. See you all tomorrow Suzy :o) x
