Hi! Are you on a pc or apple mac? I use the web cam on our apple macs and you need the iChat programme. Think it's different for the PC! Allie x

Hubby says - You should have got some software with the webcam! If you can see yourself on the screen (you do have to plug it in the right place) your friend should be able to see you! Allie x

Well on the Mac you have to 'invite' the other person to the video chat by clicking on the camera icon. Don't know if it the same on the ole pc though! Allie

I have webcam etc. and a Net Passport with MSN. I believe you are meant to click on 'Have a Video Conversation', when you are online with the person you wish to talk to. This means you should be able to see them with their camera on, and chat too. However, I have never been able to set this up with my cousin in Canada, and I have never found out why it doesn't work!!! Only way it seems to work is through WINDOWS Messenger, so if you have that, give it a try! By the way...hopefully both your cameras have microphones built in..or you have headsets? You can't chat without a microphone. Dee x
