I'm thinking either a 'girly' dress with gloves, clutch bag and peephole sandals or pencil skirt, bustier and trilby. Any ideas? |

You need to find out how dressy the wedding will be..... the last one I went too which was my step-daughters I was the only person in a hat other than my best friend!! :O) None of the others were classy enough!! :O) |

Bec Firstly, you should not upstage the bride. Secondly remember that English summers may be hot or cold, so perhaps an outfit with a matching jacket or a wrap. You don't want to be either sunburnt or goosepimply in a bustier! I think the dress idea sounds good. nell |

Bec, both sound lovely, just don't upstage the bride. Don't over dress and take a jacket or wrap to keep you warm. |

*waves at Julie and Lunar* The problem is I don't think I can pull off 'girlie'. There are some lovely floral dresses about to come on the market but I don't think it's me. Plus I struggle to wear dresses due to the fit. I quite like the idea of tailored shorts but don't have the legs to wear them :0( |

Bec - you can wear whaever you want. If a dress fits poorly go for a 2 peice. You can do girly, it's just a case of finding the right outfit that fits correctly. Unfortunatly desingers tend to make everything for 6 ft, 5 stone super skinny modles, and not real girls. |

When my Nephew was getting married it stated on the invitation ---- The Bride Requests for all the Lady Guests to Wear Hats. First time i'd ever seen that happen before, but it was lovely and all we Laaaydeees had a nice opportunity to really dress up. Mau XX |

Lunar - I struggle with dresses being a 12/14 bottom and a 16/18 top! Am currently browsing a few sites and looking for inspiration! |

Mau - That's so cool! I really do love hats! The last wedding I went to was a Winter Blessing so I wore a feather headpiece! xx |

One of my friends had a specification that all the guests were to wear pink, white or black. Not a great fan of black, but it did mean the wedding photos didn't have any colour clashes. The best man put on a Pink Panther costume for the reception! |

Hi Bec, My yougest had exactly the same problem, she solved it, when a dress is needed, she makes her own. I can't give you any advice as I'm not sure what is in fashion this year but if you're not into making I would stick with a two piece of some description. Vivienne |

Bec, why not look for a skirt and top so you can choose the appropriate sizes and later you can wear them seperately with different tops and skirts/trousers/ fitted shorts etc. so you get some more wear out of them. I am sure you will look good anyway whatever you decide on. Liz |

I'm like you Bec, only the other way round - bigger at the bottom than the top! I just cannot wear dresses. I'm going to look for a summery trouser suit for the one I'm going to - then I can buy the 2 bits separately in different sizes. Maybe a hat too - I like hats for weddings! Maz. XX |
