Or alternatively, you can still send your query below to our support team and you will receive a response within 2 working days (Monday - Friday) The Query which will be sent to us From: ~♥* Derbyshire Dancer *♥~, To: Advertising Subject: Feedback Your query Dear Sirs, I sent an e.mail at least a week ago, referring to the current pricing structure for renewal. Your statement says that all queries/e.mails will be answered with 2 days .... but as yet I have had no response from anyone. Could someone, at the very least, explain why my query has not been answered and also possibly answer my query regarding the cost of renewal. Elaine

I have sent several, all asking why I was charged more than was requested for the renewal, and in the last one I mentioned the word discourteous, but still not response.

Elaine - Estelle told me that if you have the automatic / continuous membership renewal marked, then it will renew at the rate you previously paid. :-) Joy

OH!! That made me jump! Opened the GR site and saw top left of screen:- ''Joy Full Member Until 20 Apr 06 Renew now'' Is that an order? :-)

Joy Report 21 Mar 2006 15:33

PS ''Renew'' is underlined......... in fact it all looks emboldened, too. Wish they could make ''1 new message'' emboldened, I don't always notice that.

They sent me a 'reminder' about a month ago ........ and then the message became more prominent. I'm NOT renewing. Simple as that. Where was this survey that was done amongst members ? Why is it not one price straight across the board .and why did they need to up the price anyway ..... they should have left it at £7.50 and made do. They were getting money off me twice - once for this site and another for Friends .... I soon stopped that. They should make it £7.50 per site OR £9.95 for the double package if you join both. I never use Friends --- and apart from anything else, without us, there wouldn't be a site for them to run. Although, I hasten to add, I am of the opinion that this site runs itself !! Elaine ;-) No reply yet .......

Hi Elaine See my problem isn't about the money its about a choice that is costing me and others more. I'd like to know who the members were who filled in this questionnaire in the first place and why they agreed to the prices going up, secondly I'd like to know why i didnt see this questionnaire, also the majority of members had to vote yes for a price raise in order for the prices to go up. I dont mind paying more, if i got more, this site offers a board to use, the fee paying members, give tips for free, do look ups for free ( even though they pay another site ) help each other for free, guide each other for free, be a shoulder for people to cry on for free, etc etc, the list is endless. So to me, when i first joined it was £5, then £7.50 and now £9.95. For what, hot matches i dont use, nor do i use the 1901 which you pay for anyway. Or is this extra money to pay moderators who can then moderate the boards, etc, if so i'll do it for free. So basically hot matches has cost me an extra £4.95, well id rather be blocked from that then and pay my original price of £5. I will pay more, if they offer more. fair is fair. It does state that you are upgrading your membership, what am i up grading to ? what new things is there then ? as i dont see anything new at all. So i prefer to pay £7.50 and have no extras, as i only need the tips and the records board really to help me with my genealogy. oh and isn't it discrimination that if i click a certain box for it to be continuous, then i pay one fee, but because i chose to pay when its due, then i get charged more. I'm sure they cant do that, what happened to freedom of choice then ? Its not about money, its the principle of the matter and choice. Oh I have also emailed them, as well. Oh and i will not renew at that price either, As its not value for money nor is my choice being taken away. My choice is not to renew, I pay £5 else where and get value for money and i also think that £5 is to cheap. Crazy :-)

I noticed I had a reminder like one of you had just said they noticed stating RENEW NOW the price below was definately £7.50. I could not aford at that time when the first message came up which was about two weeks before my cut off date but gradually as the day came closer the price altered and eventually I ended paying somthing like the £9.95 price. So I am wondering whether the sooner you reply the cheaper it is? It's £2 dearer but is anyone willing to test the waters. Wendy

I cannot use the automatic renew I have a new debit card, so my numbers changed. We should have a facility to change our card number within our account details page to be able to continue at the reduced price. Elaine x

HI I have had a reply from GR and i must say they were very quick in answering me, very impressed. :-) Yes it is true, if you tick the box for continuous then its what you paid last year, old members £7.50, new members £9.95. If you do not tick the continuous membership box the fee is £9.95 Regardless on when you joined and how much you paid last year, etc. so for the old members, if you tick £7.50 if you dont £9.95. :-) :-)
