STEVE - HELP; I just did what you said about temporary internet files and then NOTHING would happen!!! Eventually I went back again and got a pop up box which I clicked - nothing would move. Went back again and clicked Cancel and found that I could reply. Can't understand what I did wrong. Think I'll leave it as it is. Couldn't even get other messages boards - everything stopped.

Hi All Gloria i was at at dog show yesterday lol Your hot matches stay on the web server not on your hard drive so they wont clogg up your hard drive. As you know you should clear all your tempary internet files at least once a month as you could end up with 50-100 meg of crap depending how big you have your temp catch set to. Steve

I have just checked my 'ignored hot matches' and yes the deleted ones are there. I hadnt realised that. I suppose if I ever get new info I can go through them again. There just might be something I want there (flap flap oink oink).

Tony, I bet all yours are in the ignored hot matches, and those are the ones I cannot get rid of. Gloria

I usually click on the flaming match to see what the match is and if it isnt a real match I click on delete below it. That removes it from the list of hot matches. Only trouble is that each time I do one, say on page 6 it returns to page 1 and when I scroll down that page and click on page 6 I often find the names have been rearranged so I dont know where I am, have to go through all the pages again. GRRRR. Very time consuming.

I checked mine earlier after reading this thread and I've got 30 pages worth of ignored one's and I thought I'd discarded them too. I hope there is a way of completely deleting them.

There has to be a way to get rid of them once and for all------I am relying on Steven to help us when he comes on, probably at a dog show. Gloria :-))))

I also don't like my list cluttered up with matches I don't want. I would like to use the ignore function to hide away those that I have looked at and which are relevant, but I don't want to delete just yet. Up till now I've been using the discard button at the end of the details on each entry to get rid of ones that don't match. Please don't tell me that this doesn't actually delete them as I've spent ages doing it!!!! And how do you discard one that is a happy genes error. They're the ones that really drive me nuts!!! Angela

sorry Gloria but I disagree! unless you have saved them somehow onto your PC then they shouldn't affect your own PC's performance - surely they are only on the site, not on our PC's ?? maybe Steve Boffin could confirm?? Maz. XX

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 26 Mar 2006 16:22

Don't take this the wrong way, but does it really matter - so long as you don't have to see them each time - if you don't click on 'ignored hot matches' then they won't bother you! They don't take up any space on your PC so won't cause a problem to you. Life is too short to worry unnecessarily about this sort of thing imho!! Maz. XX
