I think there is, no-one can die from more than one bullet wound and have it called suicide!! Besides which, the Army cannot be seen to be condoning bullying tactics, how off-putting would that be to new recruits??? Lin |

Most definitely a cover up, my heart goes out to the parents of the children, I know if it was one of my children I would fight to the end of my days to get to the truth and I fully support these parents in their fight. |

Lin, you say, no-one can die from more than one bullet wound and have it called suicide!! If you had any understanding of the weapon system used, plus a knowledge and understanding of small arms then you would not have made that statement. Roy. ex instructor in small arms |

Don,t think there has been a cover up. As an ex army man on active duty, we lost several men not in combat. Young men, mostly, and loaded weapons, are not a good combination. Remember my own training. Perhaps of necessity, lots of bullying; bad food;away from your mum etc etc , you can feel pretty desperate. We had no weapons then, several ran away; hit the corporals. (we weren,t allowed stress in those days). Happy days(not really) |

Yes That's probably very true Roy, but I heard a report a while back, when these cases were just unfolding, that at least one of those soldiers had several gunshot wounds. I could be mistaken on that too......and if that's the case, then I'm perfectly happy to withdraw that statement Roy....but I still believe that there has been a cover up of some sort. Lin |

Lin, I am not asking any one to withdraw any statement, i was just replying to the question asked by Brian on his thread as to ( What do you think, is there a cover up ) and also that if you think that anyone using a SA80 to kill them selves would only have one gunshot wound is wrong as this is a weapon that has got a semi and fully automatic setting, in simple terms this meens that on auto one pull of the triger can quite easily fire from 2 to 5/6 rounds of ammunition. Hope that helps Roy |

Yes, that does help me understand your point Roy thanks, so would all these soldiers have been issued with this particular weapon then Roy? Lin |

Just after his 16th birthday my son went 5 hours from home to Harrogate to the Army Foundation College. All the recruits there were 16 or 17 and I keep my dog in better conditions. They really had to rough it, but as it was the army and not a hotel then all well and good. The elecrical wiring was definatly substandard though. The sockets and light switches were hanging off and bare wires exposed. I'm glad he left after 2 months and came home to his mum! Claire |

this is my last response on the subject, so i will just add that 30 years ago there may well have been an attempt to cover this up, But today even if the army wanted to cover it all up the police would not allow it, they are called in now just as if it where a normal civil suicide or murder. Roy |

The independent police firearms expert concluded that in one case it was IMPOSSIBLE for the cause to be suicide. Five shots! How can this NOT be a cover-up? The 'police would not allow it'?, are they not trying to cover up the evidence in the shooting of the Brazilian 'bomber'?? Bob |

always there had to be a cover up cos the reports of how some died just didnt match, someone couldnt fire a second shot after shooting one through his head, it blatently obvious im with the familys on this one, they should keep pushing on for as long as it takes |
