Got 2 new kittens to play with but even they haven't cheered me up (much). Didn't want to come home and I know I was in holiday mode for the past few days, but even so I just want to go now. Wish I never went to 6th form now (knew that already) but now I really see the contrast.

It became quite clear when at 10 o'clock this morning, when I was sitting reading the paper at the table, reading the paper with a cup of tea in hand, when I recieved a call from a mate in college asking where I was. Made me think, 'what have I doing past 2 years???'. Like I said I was in holiday mode, but still, I'm sure normality would have been better than the crap existance I've had here.

Back to the real world with a BIG bump then!!! I bet the famil missed you and you them (not that a lad your age would admitt it generally!) You may hate sixth form now, but you will be glad you did you went the day that you get a job over someone with the same ability as you who has only got GCSE's! Besides your young enough to do anything you want after sixth form, even backpack arround the world if you want too! Just think in 3 months sixth form will be over and you'll have to make your way in the real world! Welcome back, Night LT xx

Dan, Sometimes in life you hit those crossroads when you're probably stuck in a rut and your unsure if you've made the perfect choice for where yo want to be going. I had the same thing in the middle of my A Levels and when I told school I was going to quit they told me I'd get nowhere without them (the teachers and the exams) My happiest moment was three years later when I was working at the Sunday Times and they rang me up and begged me to take someone on to do work experience for them. What you need to ask yourself is whats the best career path for your chosen profession. I got by without exams and degrees but I had to work my way up the ladder from the bottom gaining practical experience as I went. People that stayed on a did degrees who I work with are probably at the same level as me for their age not necessarily with the same complete understanding of how the whole industry works. It depends what you want to do I suupose - Doctors can't start as receptionists and work up - but in other jobs that path is quite normal Zoe

Sorry you are feeling fed up, Daniel , but the advice you have been given here is good. As Sandra says, finish school and go travelling. I am sure there are enough kind GR members dotted all over, who would love your company (for a day or two)! when you need a break. Lovely, big world out there. My dog misses you:-) XXX BC
