The story so far... see below

Having nothing to do the other day... I saw a message on Records from someone who neede a little help with things regarding trying to find her birth mother. So I started digging and came up with the marriage of her BM... I then went on to search for a lady with that name in the area where our Genes Member was adopted from. There was only one... and me being a nosy person and not being able to contain my curiosity, got in touch with her. Now I know you will all say... it could have been the worst thing ever to do this, but I left a message with a neighbour of hers who said she was a very good friend and she passed on my message on giving a couple of details and my phone number. I didn't expect to be rung quite so soon... but... She has rung this afternoon and is over the moon. I have now passed her telephone number on to her 'daughter' and they will be talking tomorrow, after they have absorbed all this in. So.... all's well and I feel so proud to have been part of it... please wish them both well, Anne:)))

Hi Daniel... the story is not finished yet. It has come at a crossroads in both of their lives and having been searching for years, they will be re-united again soon, I am sure... Anne:)))

Anne - that was a brilliant result and you must feel proud to have been involved. Had I the time and knowledge to help someone in that way, I am sure I would have done the same - well done. I do hope their reunion goes well and helps them both on this next part of their lives together. Liz

All good stuff. Have been trying to do a similar thing for somebody but the person I am looking for was from Scotland and dont know if she is still alive. There was one person on here with her in his tree. Have mailed him a few times but no response. I am wondering if the person on here is her son and does he know that she gave up another son for adoption. I suppose the only way to find out is to go to Edinburgh records office.

Hi Anne Many congratulations:)) I am feeling a bit strange after reading Gloryer's reply. By an odd coincidence I am trying to find a birth mother too and she was born in Scotland (Glasgow). The person that I am trying to help though wasn't born in Scotland. I have tried the same plan as you Anne i.e. looking for a marriage but unfortunately, although the parents stayed in the same area, she didn't. So far I have found 2 possible marriages but can't find any current matches. Well done, you must be over the moon:)) Chrissie x
