When making cakes (usually fairy cakes cos they're about the only ones I can make lol) I find the best bit is the bit you scrape out of the bowl after having put the rest of the mixture in the oven. There are times when I think the actual baking is a waste of good mixture (it's the cooking part that usually goes wrong for me lol). I will however try to remember to stick this recipe in the fridge first :-) btw Loved the way you mentioned the wine bit it made me smile, you know us so well pmsl Juliexx |

Thanks for that Esme:-) One of these days I shall astound my friends when I put the warm, freshly baked brownies on the table and say with hand on heart 'I made these myself'...they will never believe it! lol BC XX |

Nothing wrong with it at all Julie ............... just remember to put the cake in the fridge BEFORE you open the bottle ................ or you'll end up eating the soggy cake with a spoon!!!!!!! But after a bottle or two of chilled wine ........... who gives a damn!!!!!!!!!!!! :-))))))))))))))))))))))) |

Here you go BC, you could manage this one............... Chocolate biscuit cake. 10oz plain chocolate 2 talblespoons milk 4oz unsalted butter 4oz digestives 2 standard pkts white buttons 2 standard pkts milk choc buttons 1 ..... grease a 7inch round cake tin and line with greaseproof paper. 2 ............ Melt plain chocolate with milk(gently), stir in butter. Leave to cool but not solidify. 3 ....... break digestives into small pieces and mix with the buttons. 4............ Stir biscuit mixture into the butter and chocolate. Pour into the tin and pack down. Chill for about 3 hours. (by chill they mean put the cake in the fridge, not just open a bottle of wine and relax!!!!!!!!!!) 5 ..........Remove from tin, peel away paper and slice into THIN wedges ......... 6 ............ EAT :-)))))))))))))))))))))) |
