Susie, it sounds like your mom is going to be ok, with all of the love that you all have for each other, working together makes it easier to cope, bless all of you, and I also hope that she is a real woman and proves the doctors wrong. Bev

susie Dont give up hope that your mum will come through this, 4 weeks ago my mum was in hospital when she took a massive heart attack and was left for 40 mins without oxygen to her brain the doctors gave us a 99.9% that she would not survive and if she did she would be left totally brain damaged she was in intensive care for 3 weeks with absolutely no response from her but we never gave up on her and by some miracle she is fine and getting home next week, Her muscles need alot of work but with determination and love we know shes going to be back to her old self shortly the doctors cant believe it either the fact that she has no damage to her brain after 40 mins without oxygen now i believe in miracles and i will pray for your mum and your family even though im not religious i feel it helped me.

Susie, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I don't know how old she is, but my friend Mary is about 68/9. She had a very very bad stroke last summer, her 3rd or 4th. She lost her speech, and her sight was not good, and she cried alot. But she is a very determined lady... sounds like your father! She lives alone, although her daughters and her son are around and look after her, with the aid of nurses, carers and home helps. She was a long time getting better, but to be honest I have not spoken to her for quite a while. She is too busy going out with her family. God bless your mother and father and I'm sure they will win through. Good luck to you all. Deanna X

Susie, I'm thinking of you all, and having a little smile at your Mum with the crosswords, give her, and yourselves plenty of hugs and cuddles, and like you say, all pulling together, you will do the best for her. Thanks for keeping us updated, you take good care, Chris :)

Sad to hear the news about your mum Susie, but what the doctor told you is the worst case scenario - with such a loving family and her husband supporting her so well, I am sure your mum will come on in (tiny) leaps and bounds. She will do so much better in a familiar place with all she knows and loves around her, good tho the care is at nursing homes, so you just all feel positive and get those alterations sorted, and she will be back within the bosom of her family before long I am sure. it will be easier for her care with everything on the level. Will be thinking of you all and I am sure you will keep us posted of progress made. Liz

God bless you all Susie, it wil be an uphill struggle but your mum and dad are worth it. My mum wanted to be at home and we managed, she only went into hospital for the last few days for treatment and pain relief. Just give both of them a hug from me and as much love as you can.
