Don't see the need or attraction myself. Sleeping in a tent, in some field, usually on some soggy ground. Everytime I've been I always end up with saw back or neck or something. And the cold! I'd rather be tucked up on a mattress myself.

My soon to be ex is apparently taking my 2 on a camping trip in August. Good luck to them I say. Especially when I know what size the tent is he is taking them in!!

we love it. Dont like where you are,/get bored- up sticks and go! We have a trailer tent so i suppose its a bit different - but with sprung mattresses and the bits and pieces that go with civilised camping , we havent been to a hotel for donkeys years jes

Some of use just like the outdoors, if you wake up with a saw back or neck or a cold then this generaly meens that you are not very fit as in your body is not very supple, and a cold is a virus so you will get that whether camping or in a nice warm bed, unless you ment cold as in 'your muscles' and this would be because you did not have the correct equipment. I'd hire you (to proof read for me) but sorry to say I've already got one. A doctor in fact! She's very good.

Daniel

Daniel Report 8 Apr 2006 12:24

I take your point Roy but I'm not an outdoor person. Never have been. I prefer my bricks and mortar :-)

This is exactly why we have a caravan, all the comfort but still a cheaper holiday, and we have electric hook-up so can have our little luxories with us too.

Val each to his own eh ! The trouble is , with my health I just cant go camping in a tent (it would kill me !) not literally of course but I would be very ill .

Poolmaster Report 8 Apr 2006 12:42

we always went camping when I was a kid. My dad bought an old post office van at an auction and we 3 kids and dog were bundled in the back along with the tent. It is great fun for kids although I never took mine cos we never had a car.

Not a good idea in stilletos unless you act as tent pegs
