Little Lost

Little Lost Report 8 Apr 2006 13:25

Just been to town with my soon to be 16 yr old. Managed to get his size 13 shoes. he is over 6 foot and a growing lad. When we went into the clothes shops nearly all of the tops are eith pink or yellow. He said he wold never wear pink cos its gay. Other than that it was all england footie shirts. And he is not into football but did manage to get a navy polo shirt with england logo. Anybodys son like wearing the pink tops now in all the shops?

Pull the the other one. But saying that my black shirt with light red and grey stripes, and my white shirt with pale blue stripes are both homosexual by many accounts.

My elder son isn't at all bothered about wearing pink, he actually has a pink armband. BUT he prefers shades of blue, white and black, which are rather dull, I think. When I had say so he always wore bright colours. What seems to matter most is the brand label. He's keen on Ted Baker at the moment. nell

What about the fashion of wearing jeans halfway down their backsides. Walking behind one the other day they were so low I was just waiting for them to fall! The amount of underwear on show was horrible.....and pretty grey into the bargin. Someones Mum not using Ariel.

Both my 19 year old boys have pink t-shirts - and got called no end of names by the OH when they bought them. Today , however, HE is wearing a pink and navy striped t-shirt! Tina

Our 18 year old would never wear pink. He's only into black or grey. He will wear navy, sometimes white & sometimes dark red or dark green but only under pressure [when I hide his others under the towels in the airing cupboard] Got a wardrobe full of T'shirts that all fit him but never wears them.

so is it just a phase he is going through. Once he starts college he may well mix with art students that are into bright clothing. He is in a rock band as well so they only wear dark co;ours. They are in school talent show next month. Fingers crossed cos i know he wants it to take of.

I'm not too sure. As long as he is respectable does it really matter? Like I said Primark is the one for deceny and Longmanesq style. Also Matalan and the occasional La George in House of Asda.

Little Lost

Little Lost Report 8 Apr 2006 21:15

Does not really matter was just curious as all the shops seemed to have brightly coloured clothing all over and had to hunt for anything dark. Just wondered if he would stand out as the only one wearing black!!

Nah it wont be a problem. BUT, if there is, he'll realise and change. Simple.

My son needed a new suit for interviews and got one from his mail order catalogue dirt cheap, dark brown with a very very pale pink stripe and he wears a pale pink shirt and pink and brown tie and looks amazing. I must get a photo sometime soon for the album, have never seen him look so smart and scrummy - very dark hair and blue eyes.
