Hi, In answer to Ann's question -no, the nephews and nieces do not buy me anything!! In fact, now I think about it, as I usually give them to their mums to pass on, I cannot even remember receiving a thank you. (I was even a bit upset this year to not receive a thank you for an expensive 21st gift to one, so yes, time to stop!!) I love Glenys' idea- a small 'token' egg to everyone in the family including the parents, I shall make up a little basket of mini eggs for each family with a fluffy chick for all to share!. Brilliant!! Thanks Chris

Wow, I like the idea of the basket with the decoration! It's a shame you don't get a thank-you though, isn't it. Well, I'm off to bed now; night night. x

OMG I'm so mean!! I stopped buying eggs for my two when they were about 6!! They had so many one year, I ended up eating them just before the sell-by date. After that, I bought them a book for Easter and let rellies and friends buy the eggs. I have never bought my nephews and niece easter eggs. I have never bought my grand daughter an egg either - she's received a book from year 1!! She will receive eggs from her father's family AND her step-father's family - too much. It's the same at Christmas - she received 4 doll's pushchairs one year!!! maggie

Joy - why don't you play innocent and contact Thornton's to ask if you can have the egg they used for the ad as it has your name on - they might even send you one!!

Call me mean, but I think Easter (and Valentines Day and Halloween for that matter), are getting too much like Christmas. I've never bought chocolate eggs for nieces or nephews and stopped getting my own children them when they left home. I have sent my grandchildren a kit for decorating eggs this year though. Chocolate eggs don't do well in the mail across that ocean. :-)

AS I dont live near any nieces or nephews I have never bought for any of them. As for my own children the 2 eldest have children of their own so I buy for those and not the parents. My son who still lives at home and not got any kids will still have an egg. My mums birthday is on Good Friday and I usually get her an easter egg as part of her birthday treat as I never kow what else to get her.

When my lot start work and earning their own money thats when I stop buying them (theres so many of them you see) I would be bankrupt if I kept on buying for them all.

I used to get eggs until my daughter came along when I was 24. Now my family buy for the kids instead. Thankfully they don't mind me sharing! Jack x

Well, of course I have bought one for my son(17) but its all the other relations. I think your own children are a special case. I have started making up little baskets of eggs for some families (baskets from Wilkinsons, bags of Easter eggs for 'hunt the eggs from Super Drug and a fluffy chicken topped with cling film. THey look pretty. I had already bought several Easter eggs for some nephews and nieces but am going over to the basket idea for the whole family from next year! Happy Easter to you all Chris
