As some of you already know my 33yr old brother died on December 9th 2005. His partner was 5+ month pregnant at the time, ive just learned she gave birth to a little Girl (Nicole) on the 30th March. Im very happy about the new arrival but deeply sad and emotional that he is'nt here to celebrate too, the thought of the baby never knowing her daddy is heart breaking, im a bag of mixed emotion at the moment....Just wanted to share this with you all......Lib x |

I'm sorry about your brother, I'm sure he'd want you to be pleased about his daughter's birth though. His partner will need support from your family too -it's hard being a new mum. It's not being disloyal about your brother to be pleased about the baby. Jacquie XXX |

Thank you for your replies, yes i really feel i want to be supportive and help where i can, a new baby can be hard to cope with at the best of times let alone in these circumstances, there are also 4 other children to be concidered too. It's the way my brother died that puts a very different angle on it, i feel frustrated and angry at him at times. The circumstances that lead upto his death as left my parents very bitter towards his partner, therefore they have unfortunately turned their backs on her. I do however understand why they are feeling this way but i feel torn between them and my sister in law.... Lib |

Yes im aware that the children and baby are totally innocent in all this, thats why i am going to do something about it, i don't want them to grow up never knowing their daddy's side of the family... My parents are unfortunatley very tunnel visioned in their views, and i guess with this they are also looking for some one to blame for their sons death... They will just have to accept my feelings and come to terms with my decision... And yes my brother certainly does live on in all of his children, that is very comforting to know.... Lib PS i feel as though im being intrusive by posting this thread , the general board is like a battle field at the mo and i feel im having to duck and dive to avoid the missiles... |
