My daughter had a huge one, tried freezing a few times , bazooka etc. Eventually got rid of by using the special verucca plasters from Boots. Gone in couple of weeks. Jenny

Apparently Duck Tape! And now, the step-by-step instructions - as posted on WebMD: Tape occlusion for wart removal Tape occlusion is an inexpensive method of wart removal that involves covering the wart with tape. It is often called the 'duct tape' method. • Cut a piece of adhesive tape as close to the size of the wart as possible. • Leave the tape in place for 6 days. If the tape falls off, put on a new piece. • After 6 days, remove the tape and soak the area in water. Then gently rub the wart surface down with an emery board or pumice stone. Leave the tape off overnight. • Repeat this process until the wart is gone, but not longer than 2 months. One small study found that in 22 out of 26 people, common warts went away completely within 2 months. In most people, they were gone in 28 days.

What makes the Doctor think that if your hubby pays £150 the freezing off will work when it didn't work the first three times? I thought you may be able to get free treatment if you could find a Chiropody/podiatry training centre local to you. (They have to learn somewhere) but I couldn't find a list. I did however find the following on www.feetforlife.org ............If yours is causing pain, there are a number of treatment options available – though no one particular treatment can guarantee a cure. A recent review of treatments in the British Medical Journal (August 2002) concluded that the safest and most effective treatments were those containing salicylic acid. This acid is applied to the wart to disintegrate the viral cells and has a cure rate of 75%. It may need to be applied at weekly intervals over a set period of time. Most corn removing liquids contain Salicylic acid (AKA Aspirin) I'd be tempted to contact your local health authority and ask if what your husband has been told is correct. I'm sure the NHS can't just wash their hands of his problem just 'cos they are finding it difficult to cure.

When my daughter had one, over twenty years ago (about 11 /12) Dad took her to hosp...............had it cut out! He phoned me up from the waiting room.......heard her screaming the hosp down!! Ahhhhh........can't listen to any more...............chicken lol!!! Jen

Oh the joy of the NHS!! They'd rather the person suffer and have to take time off than get the problem sorted!! £150 is nothing to the doctors surgery and they annoy me that they won't sort it!!

TRY THE BANANA SKIN!! it does work!! just cut a bit about 1'' square and stick it, inside skin side to place, with a chunk of Micropore...or marking tape if you are desperate. Jess

Sure I've just seen an advert on TV, for a solution that freezes the little blighters. Think it's made by Scholl. May be worth asking Phamacist. Sharon xx

Sorry dont know the name of it, but there was an advert on TV this am. Say's it works like..being frozen. Chemist would know depending on how new it is. Marion

Jane..............that's what I wondered......but verruccas arn't supposed to be painful!......(quoting the doc there) Rosalyn, Has been 4 months now and has got more painful and is affecting his job. How long does this have to go on or should we just pay private (which we can't really afford) before someone gives us the answer!......rather than go through all these people.....giving us a lot of (non) advice! Docs I mean.........not you great people on here! Stel.x

Stel, why does it have to be private? Can he not go back to Docs and tell him you cant afford £150? There must be some assistance on the NHS for it. I'd go in and stamp my feet.........but then I haven't got a verruca!
