Or are things created and put in place by some higer force, despite how pointess the apparent burden seems, it is actually for own good in the long run? Is it nessecery for something we cannot foresee?

Ok. Right erm. Does some higher force, I'll call it God, have some plan regarding how our lives will turn out? Now, to acheive that plan, God has to put certain obstacles, certain troubles in our path to lead us into the direction of his celetrial blueprint. These troubles seem bad and negative to us at the time, but once weeks/months/years have passed and we look back, the apparent burden that was forced upon X time ago, turned out to be a positive thing in the long run. It's deep for Saturday afternoon, but it's been on my mind for fair bit and decided to put it into words today.

There is something Daniel , guiding us and we make our choices rightly or wrongly, but there is something.....Not my usual flippant self but serious now....Maybe it is my Catholic upbringing..I don't know...

No I dont think there is a plan. I think life is a series of random situations thrown at us and it is how we deal with them that makes us the people we are. The more difficult situations occur, the more we grow. The further down we are pushed, the more we can clamber back with a little bit more knowledge.

I think your title belies what you are attempting to find out!! I believe we have to go thru some DARK points in our lives for many reasons........ and one of them may be just as simple as to be able to enjoy the good times!! I don't believe anyone is cursed!!

I don't know. But, there is one thing which has seemed to me, personally, to be more than a coincidence and the ramifications that followed from that possible divine catalyst, led to something great, yet caused a lot of strife in the process. (and still does)

I'll try again. I'm not going into details like, but I'll give you an overview. About 5 years ago something happened which really was quite against all the odds. I would never have expected it. From that one small thing came a chain of events which caused me, not by choice but by condition, to 'sacrifice' a part of my life. From these conditions I took up my genealogy and my writing, both of which I'm very proud of and hope to make a career out of. I would never have thought of taking up such hobbies otherwise but looking back, I see that that small event 5 years ago set me off into the direction of the lucky position I am in toady. I don't want to use the word 'recover' from what I have been through for the past few years (this sounds so melodramatic) but that's the best word I can think of. I feel I have gone through the bout that I found myself within and I'm read to go out and achieve what has been crafted for me. (I'm sorry to sound so Messiahesq. I really don't mean to) Did some higher force place that small incident 5 years ago in my path and set off that debilitating domino effect to cause me to follow a route which would cause me to take up an interest for my later career/life? Or, was it just a very unlucky thing to happen against the odds and I've had to put up with it and make do the best I could? I'm not religious, but I know what I believe.

i do understand Daniel, believe it or not....Something happens that changes the whole course of you life and you don't know whereit came from, but I don't think it is a curse, fate or destiny maybe.........
